Arlington, Texas. – John Ramírez, estudiante de la UT Arlington – Maestría del Centro Suroeste para la Mente, Cerebro y Educación, Colegio de Educación- recibió el galardón de mejor Investigación por Estudiante en un Programa de Maestría o Doctorado en la 8ª Conferencia Internacional en Educación de Ciencias de la Computación: Innovación y Tecnología, que se llevó a cabo en Singapur.
John Ramírez, maestro bilingue de 4º elemental en D/FW recibió la distinción el pasado 10 de Octubre como representante del Centro Suroeste para la Mente, Cerebro y Educación en la Universidad de Texas en Arlington (UTA).
Su investigación titulada Correlación entre Traducción Automática y Algoritmos de Lecturabilidad estudia la dificultad de aplicar inteligencia artificial para traducir documentos usados en una clase bilingüe.
Representantes de 27 universidades y de 14 diferentes países atendieron la conferencia. “Me sorprendió mucho oír mi nombre seguido de los aplausos de todos los otros representantes. Después de presenciar las diferentes formas que muchos lugares del mundo usan para motivar una nueva generación frente a los retos tecnológicos y educativos, es un honor saber que el trabajo para beneficiar nuestros estudiantes fuera reconocido,” dijo el señor Ramírez.
El señor Ramírez dice que él espera continuar usando los mejores recursos disponibles para incrementar las habilidades de sus estudiantes y colegas.
UT Arlington Masters Student Receives Award at International Conference
Arlington, Texas. – John Ramirez, a student from the UT Arlington – Mind, Brain and Education Master’s Program – received the prestigious Best Paper by Student at a Master or PhD program at the 8th Annual International Conference on Computer Science Education: Innovation and Technology, taking place in Singapore.
John Ramirez, a 4th Grade Bilingual teacher at a local D/FW ISD received the award last October 10th as a representative of the Southwest Center for Mind, Brain and Education, College of Education, at the University of Texas in Arlington.
His paper titled Correlation Between Machine Translation and Readability Algorithms deals with the difficulties applying artificial intelligence for translation in a bilingual classroom.
Representatives from 27 universities in 14 different countries attended the conference. “I was very surprised to hear my name as the one chosen to receive the recognition. After witnessing the different approaches from all over the world to engage a new generation into the upcoming challenges in technology and education, it’s an honor to know that the work done to help our students was recognized,” said Ramirez.
Mr. Ramirez says his hope is to continue using the best resources available to increase the abilities of his students and colleagues.
